Tips On How To Be More Efficient At Blogging

By Meagan Donning

It's important to share your passions with others and one way to do this is through the use of a blog. Whether you are traveling abroad, wish to keep in touch with those at home or simply want to share some tips and tricks with others, blogging is a great way to do this. Read the following tips for some great blogging advice.

Create a blogroll. A blogroll is a list of other blogs in your niche that you find valuable. Creating such a list increases your blog's value to readers, as they may be able to find content that they couldn't find on your blog. If you use your blog for marketing, a blogroll will also increase your credibility in the marketplace.

If you are interested in blogging, but you don't particularly like to write, try starting a blog about one of your creative talents. You could try a photography blog and share your hobby with others. Or you may write poetry or music that you could post samples of. If people like what you have to offer, they will come back for more.

Try writing for your readers. A blog is generally personal, but if you wish to grow an audience of more than a couple of people, try writing for the readers too. Try thinking about how the readers can benefit from your posts. If you wish to be a single beneficiary here, you should create a private journal.

Include images with your posts. Have you heard people say that pictures sometimes can get your point across better than words? This is especially true with blogging. Images can also quickly convey aspects about your blog, such as subject matter or tone of your writing, without using a lot of words to describe those features of your blog. Thus, always ensure that images are used as often as possible.

Refrain from using blog designs that are similar to MySpace. This means using extremely busy designs that have too much content on your screen, too many animated graphics, etc. Having these busy designs makes it extremely difficult for your readers to read your blog. As a result, they'll likely leave.

Avoid the overuse of personal pronouns. When most of your blog is coming from an I, me or you standpoint, it can turn the reader off. You may be perceived as lecturing, pompous or just plain narcissistic. Make your writing a little less personal, but still remain approachable. It is a good balance to find.

Remain patient when you are attempting to grow your readership. It will take some time for people to discover your blog. Also, it will take time to build up the content base that readers expect from a quality blog. The older your blog and the larger amount of content you have, the more readers will see it and visit regularly.

Take the time to apply the techniques learned in this article to your own blogging efforts. You will soon be reaping the benefits of increased sales and more satisfied customers, who feel a personal connection to you and your company. Start blogging today with renewed confidence and a fresh approach.
